Talking 100g wide setup

Hi all!

I finally got my new tank:

48"x24"x20" (same footprint as a 120)

Im going to have one tall tower of live rock and one medium island.

I want to keep tons of different monti. cap. on the tower and some rare softies on the island. (ricordea's, crazy zoos, etc.)

If anyone has any equipment for sale that will work for this system let me know. Im in Fresno, CA.

I would also like any advice on lighting for these corals or advice on anything else for this system.

Thanks guys. Ill have pics soon!

Nice choice in tank. I have the same exact tank dimensions. Check it out if you would like.

I just bought an ASM G3 skimmer. And an 8x54w retro T5 HO. Now what pumps for my closed loop and sump return??

Nice! Did you get SLR Reflectors? If so, you sure 8 bulbs are gunna fit under your canopy?

As for the closed loop not sure. But for the return, a Ehiem 1250 or 1260 would do great and be close to silent when running. I wouldnt even bother with mag pumps, most are to loud to be running 24/7.

not SLR's but some german ones. the measurement's will fit fine. So why would you pick the Eheim over a QuietOne or a Little Giant?

make sure to mount your T5's at the proper height. People are having bleaching issues with T5's myself included.

Cuz I have a Eheim 1260 and its almost dead silent and doesnt put much heat into the tank and very very reliable . No experience with the other two pumps.

Is the 1260 necessary? or would the 1250 be okay?

The 1250 would work fine if you dont have to much headloss.

My setup is very similar to yours. Do you have a lot of headloss?

The 1260 is rated at about 640gph and my plumbing is 1" piping with 3.5ft vertical, 2ft Horizontal, (4) 90degree elbows, (2) 45 degree elbows, 1 union coupling and one exit. After headloss Im getting around 450gph out of the return.

I run a 1260 on a 90G. Very nice pump and a good size for a 90 - 120G tank.
