60 gallon oceanic cube?

I have a LFS claiming they exist, and that they're a "semi-custom", whatever that means. Everything concerning oceanic right now is up in the air since they're moving to WI., so no one seems to be able to give me definitive prices of sizes they will be carrying.

So, have any of you ever seen or heard of one?

Thanks,
Ike

Ive never heard of a 60gal cube. I thought the only cube they make is the 30gal.

i'm sure they'd custom make one for you. Most any company will if you pay them enough

From what I gathered, "semi-custom" meant that it's a special order but not really a full custom job. Maybe that means they can just use glass panels and trim pieces from other standard size aquariums Well, hopefully AGA/Oceanic can give the LFS a price tomorrow...

I wish they made that a stock tank, I bet they would fly off the shelves!

Yeah, that's my thinking. Yet it would seem my only option is custom or the 30 gallon. Hopefuly I get some good news tomorrow.

yes they have "standard custom" tanks, or at least they used to.

they are basically special order tanks, tanks they dont consider a hassle to make but only do so upon request, and at a price premium.

they used to have them listed on their website, but no more. the 90 "cube" was one of the ones listed and i got it priced at $1100 with stand.

the 60 cube however was, from what i was told, a custom order and as such pricey. i got that priced as well and was also $1100.

time will only tell if they will "update" their new line and how the move will affect tank prices.

According to the locals prices will be coming down a good amount in WI since shipping charges will no longer apply. We'll see and I hope that's the case. It will make deciding between a 65 and a 75 easier, I'll just get a 60 or larger cube

locals always have it good due to the cost savings of shipping to and from distributors.

i recall posts from texans who bought their oceanics setups for hundreds less than here in the northeast

Either way it should help me outwith my decision. I'd much rather have a 58 oceanic than a 50 or 65 AGA. That is if they still offer the same quality and sizes oceanic is known for...

I've been told that Oceanic did not employ a engineer with their aquariums and stands, instead they just overengineered everything. So, we may see a drop in quality with the Oceanic stuff if AGA decides to cut some costs, but then it would seem pointless to continue with Oceanic. Hopefully there is more to the aquisition than AGA just wanting to eliminate their competition.
