hooking up RO/DI...??

This is probably a weird question... I should be getting my RO/DI unit this afternoon in the mail... I have been planning on hooking it up in my laundry room, by splitting the cold water line running to my washer and then somehow draining in the drain for the washer. The only thing I haven't quit figured out, is how to set the drain up... do you think I could just squeeze the waste water line in the drain with the j pipe from the washer..?? and if I do that... do I need to have a check-valve or something on the RO/DI waste line to make sure that the dirty laundry water doesn't get into my RO/DI filter..?? Thanks in advance.

You don't need a check valve. Just put your waste water line in the drain and forget about it. Or you could put it in the washing machine to save some water. Thats what I would be doing if I had mine in a laudry room. Cheers

Put it after the pre and carbon filters. Record your initial pressure and when it drops 15 to 20% change the filters. It is best to change your pre and carbons every 6 months but if you experience a pressure drop change them sooner according to the pressure drop info above. Its important you record that initial pressure though so you have something to refer to. You can put a line on the gauge glass with a Sharpie if nothing else.

I got mine setup the same way you are describing. Just jam the RO drain in the washer drain, and buy a 5 dollar (garden hose splitter for the input)
