shimmer from moonlights?
If I were to put a few 4 watt moonlights in my 2 ft deep tank would they be too bright or would they give a halide type shimmer?

I have one 1 watt PFO flat LED moonlight over the middle of my 115g 30" tall tank, and let me tell you...it is PLENTY! Crazy shimmer lines.

There's two 1 watt blue LEDs on our 90g and they are more than bright enough. They shimmer quite nicely, too.

I run a .75 watt moon light. It shimmers like crazy. My room's ceiling appears to be flowing and ebbing like the seashore

I have three 1 watt PFO LED's on my 30" deep 180 and its plenty enough....excellent shimmer effect..I would probably be more happy with one or two 1 watt LED's........

Can I accomplish that effect with regular moon lights like the Current USA?
http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewIt...roduct=CU01650 If so, how many of those units do I need for my 48" long (60 gal) tank? |

Yes, those will shimmer. I used 4 on my 135 (6x18x24), and it looked great.
Shimmer is easiest seen with point-sources and surface movement. LED moon lights are pretty much as close as you can get to point-sources! |

I am going to add the PFO moonlight to my PFO pendant...that would be cool...I guess one would be enough.

My 250 watt MH creates a really awesome shimmer effect in my water; the sand looks really cool during the day.
