Mounting probes?
I have a octopus controler> I want to mount my probes.I brought a tee fitting for my conductivity probe for my return line, if the water is not constantly on probe due to some air in return line is this going to effect my readings? And how do you mount your ph and orp so they do not go under water when you turn off your main pump?I know that they say flote them on foam but I have so much flow through my sump that I am afraid that the foam as well as the probes will get beaten up bad. Can these probes be under water? if so how long? I am useing neptune orp ph probes and the octopus temp and conductivity probes.

The conductivity probe is very sensitive. Not having the tip submersed will effect it greatly. You need to find a calm area for it. I don't believe you should submerge the probes, although I have read where some one does. I put my ph probe in the overflow but I attach it with a zip tie to a pipe so it does'nt submerge, why take the chance with a $50.00 part? I saw where the conductivity probe was put into a container and a drip line from the tank kept the container full and slowly overflowing into the sump. I think that's a good idea.
