Help planning a 120 gal tank

I'm near where close to getting fish yet, but had some ideas and wanted to see if it works and if not suggestions.

My set up before getting the fish is going to be...
120 gal tank, 200 lbsLR, 3 in LS

35 gal Sump, with protein skimmer

20gal Fuge, with 10 lbs of live rock... or rubble

Lights are (2) 95w and 2 (65)W 10000k MHI

In the tank we are planning:

2 tank bred Maroons
3 Blue green Chromis
1 Goby (haven't decided which kind)
Sailfin or Linear Blenny

Once the tank is established for a year may get:

Yellow Tang
Dragonet

Not sure about corals yet, we weren't going to buy any, but the place we are getting the LR from is notorious for having some coral on the rock, and I'd like to get some bubble coral. We want to get reef fish just to have the coral option open.

This is our first SW tank... so we want to get hardy easy fish. I know the Tang and Dragonet are more difficult to care for. As is, is this set up ok? I want to make sure I'm not overstocked, and getting difficult fish.

BTW, also have a 10 gal qt tank.

Look good don't think you will have any problems with this list.

The maroons are one of the meanest clown, but I don't think you'll have a problem.

Zebrasoma tangs and dragonet are both hardy fishes. Just that the problem for dragonet is getting enough food for them. If you can get it to eat prepared food that will be even better.

The dragonet, goby and blenny might not like each other though, to what extend would depend on which particular species. But given enough territory they should be fine.

Btw, I am stocking a 120G too, FWIW, here are my fish list:

- ocellaris clownfish
- four stripes damsel
- tangaroa shrimp goby
- purple tang (in QT)
- bicolor angel (in QT)
- strawberry pseudochromis (in QT)

I'm getting:
- another ocellaris clownfish
- longnose hawkfish or psychedelic mandarin or canary wrasse or six line wrasse
- one or two firefish or algae blenny (only may be)

I'm taking a quite a few risks here, such as the bicolor angel (coral), strawberry pseudochromis (shrimp), six line wrasse (shrimp) and the longnose hawkfish (shrimp). Your list looked a lot safer than mine.

Awesome thanks! We've been doing alot of research and planning on this. I forgot the mention the cleaning crew, which would be about 10 turbo snails, 20 hermit crabs, 2 star, and 2 cukes.

Can I go more on Stocking or leave it alone?

lol I have a 120 and its STOCKED to the gills my nuttrients are insanley low and my sps are looking more and more amazing everyday yours should be fine

Personally, I'd leave it as it is. As I imagine you might be fine for the moment, when the fishes reach their full grown size I'd imagine that the tank would look pretty full.

Also personally I'd go for one cuke, but that's just me, it seems that they need lots of poop to thrive, since you already have 20 hermits and 2 stars.

FWIW, here are my clean up crew list:
- 2 cleaner shrimps
- 1 blood shrimps (I added 5 in total, the rest are dead in 2 weeks)
- 2 trochu snails
- 2 cerith snails (from my previous tank)
- 1 nassarius snails (from my previous tank)
- 1 serpent star (from my previous tank)
- 1 brittle star (from my previous tank)
- 1 tuxedo urchin (coralline eater, regretted putting him in)
- 1 sand dollar (you won't see him at all)
- 1 tiger tail cuke (this one likes to hide in the rock, the black cukes seems to be more active)

I think I'll add another blood shrimp and a pair of peppermint. And may be 2 more snails. I like varieties.
