Empty skimmer cup

My skimmer was working perfectly until I clean for the first time the cup, then it is not working again. The cup is empty. More than 2 months had pass and the cup still empty. What is happening with my skimmer? My skimmer is in my sump

I have a Seaclone 100 for a 29gal. tank. I know that is not a good skimmer but is almost new and was working very good.

Sorry man, the seaclown's take alot of tuning and are the beginners mistake.......thousands of us have been there done that like myself. Wherever you got it from.....if they suggested it, don't go there anymore.

there are some mods people have made to the seaclone, try searching for them and see if they can make it work any better

I think you can put an airstone inside that skimmer and it works better, use a wood airstone.

http://www.reefcentral.com/diy/seacl...ifications.htm

Here I pulled it up for you, good luck and happy reefing!

And a post I stole from somewhere else

"I have the seaclone in my sump. I took the ventury attatchment off the powerhead and just use the power head that came with it.

I drilled a small hole in the lid and have run a peice up tubing through the lid to a wood air diffuser. Works great. I clean it out every week. Also above the lid I put an air valve and adjust the air there... also gives me a place to disconnect the line when I clean the skimmer "bucket and lid"

If it doesn't work for ya... try the other one."

Is this problem can be because the powerheadis dirty or something else?
