175W+24WT5HO or 150W+39WT5HO?

hello guys!

I want to keep a 35G tank with softies, easy LPS(dendro and duncan for example..), one clam(either derasa or crocea).
What lighting do you recommand? :

2. 150W MH 10K + 39W T5HO x2
3. neither. Recommand another....

Thank you!!!!!

What are the dimensions of your tank? Also, the two clams you listed are from one extreme to the other with light requirements. Crocea clams require the most light out of any clam while the Derasa can get by on much less.

Option two will give you more light, a se 175 W has more or less equal output to a 150W DE bulb.

my tank dimensions are:
19.6" high
17.7" wide
23.6" long

about the clams, LOL I'm sorry for my newbish clam thing, I posted a Q on the clam forum and after they will answer me i will choose which clam to keep...

BTW won't 150W MH DE + 39W T5HO actinics burn my softies? its strong.... right?

michaeldaly,
Is it too much light?

LOL!!!

I just remembered that the 39W bulbs are about 33"!!! oops!

this means the max T5 I could use is the 24W....

now a different Q, will a 150W DE HQI bulb be enough for my tank?
or should I go 250W MH?

150 with the HO T5's would be great for your tank, you could keep pretty much anything you want with proper placement.

More light needy corals or a clam need to be placed higher in the tank and your shrooms/ric's can be lower just watch for bleaching.
