emergency hospital tank help

I set up a hospital tank saturday for my Wrasse and Flame,So on top of having ich, they now have to deal with the tank cycling,I put a filter in from an establised tank to try and speed up cycle. The ammonia is getting high, fish seem fine and have improved since moving. I am treating with coppersafe.I need to do a water change I think to get levels down? If I pull out 2gallons of water,do I add 2 gallon dose of coppersafe to stay at same level?

Thx

Yes.. Because you removed 2 gallons worth of coppersafe.

Is 20% water change ok? I dont want to prolong the cycle ,but dont want to kill the fish.Should I syphon the dookie off the bottom of the tank BB? Or is there bacteria down there on the bare bottom?

20% should be fine, and yes get the junk off of the bottom. You will end up doing frequent water changes on an emergeny QT tank. This is why most people do hypo treatments for ich, instead of copper. Plus hypo is easier on your fish, and you dont have to worry about comtaminating anything. Everything that is in that tank will now always have copper in it, and can never go in your main display.

Yes fish will be fine.. I would personally recommend after treatment, do enought water changes to rid most of the copper, then let your fish rest for a few days before putting them back into the mail display.
