protein Skimmers
I wonder if the deltec turbo 1060 is a considerable upgrade to the AquaC EV 180? Is there a more efficient in sump skimmer? Looking for reasons why i should spend a thousand dollars vs four fifty. My 150 is heavily stocked with sps coral and a valuable collection Cirrhilabrus Wrasse. Water quality is excellent. EV180 pulls ulmost no skimmate. Less then a quarter of a cup per week.. Comments Please..

Many people seem to have great sucess with the AquaC EV skimmers. I was not one of them. I tried everything and never was happy with it's performance.

the ev has a huge amount of turbulence you have to use huge pumps like mag 12 and 18 then the pumps heat the water up so its a battle. deltec or bubblemaster eitherway youll get more skimmate with less energy costs and less heat. |

ATI has peaked my interest. Can anyone comment on the customer service available in the US? Do they have a web site? Who sells them? Thanks..

If you are thinking of the Bubblemaster, I think the BM200 is more than enough to protect your investment. Check with a professional for their experience with testing and evaluating these skimmers before deciding. I've seen photos of 5-6 cups of dark nasty stuff every 5-8 days depending on the owners' bioload and feedings.

Try a pressure rated pump, like a genx pcx 40. That will give new life to the aquac

A local reefer who sells frags and drygoods just started selling them about seven weeks ago. Same price as Reefgeek, but no shipping charge. |
