who is keeping flame angel in their sps tank?
I just added a flame angel to a 210g sps reef and was wondering if anyone who also keeps this fish in their sps tank could chime in. The angel came from another sps reef tank and did not bother corals. I am keeping him well fed but I am having second thoughts now and my remove it.

I have a flame angel in each of my three tanks (100 mixed, 150 sps only, and 270 mixed) and I have not had any problems.
Depends on the individual fish of course as each has it's own personality and tendencies. Why are you considering removing it? Have you witnessed it picking on your corals? |

I have one. It seems to pick here and there, but doesn't take any unusual interest in eating polyps.

I have a flame angel in a mixed reef tank... And a multicolor angel in a SPS dominant tank... Both are model citizens...

I have one in my SPS 150. When he was first put in, I didn't see any polyp extension during the day at all. I never found any evidence of him hurting anything, just the occasional "taste" here and there over the first 7-10 days. Since that break-in period, he's been a model citizen. And my polyps are back out during the day like they used to be. If something were to happen to him, I would add another without hesitation - worth the risk IMO. Good luck.
