Any waste producing action will be effective. Weather it be from fish or food. Marineland makes a really good bacteria starter, though a bit pricey. I my exp. the yellowtail seem to fair the cycle better than the other two fish, if you want to go that route.

Come on now Travis, your thread is great but give the guy a thread page. I believe you talk about it in the mid teens or so.

In my experience Damsels of all sorts have been aggressive after I started stocking the tank with other fish. I remember about 5 years ago, I had 2 3-Stripe Damsels. I month after I bought them I bought 2 Percula clowns. Within a month, the damsels had killed both clowns. I saw it happening. The two damsels teamed up against one clown until it died, and when it did, they teamed up against the other. I'll stay away from damsels now.

I do really like the look of Yellow-tail Blues and Bluefin damsels, but the risk, IMO, is not worth it for $5 fish.

Those little bastards ;-)
