1 part vinegar mixed with 5-6 parts water should do it.

It should work. I cleaned up an old 20long today with a spray bottle full of the vinegar mix and a brand new razor blade. Took off everything.

Don't dilute the vinger. There are two ways I would do it.

1. I would fill the tank with water and add in muratic acid. Muratic acid (aka as hydrocholoric acid) is available in the swimming pool section of most home improvement store. It's cheap. Plus - the acid is VERY concentrated. With the right concentration is should come off with ease! Just be cautious because you are working with a very strong acid.

2. Soak a towel with non-diluted vinger. Lay the soaked towel over the item that you want to dissolve. Once you dilute vinger - it isn't very effective.

I agree w/ reefugee. I have used the non-diluted towel method on my glass lids many times.

Any acid should work.

Vinegar (acetic acid), lemon juice (citric acid) or soda/pop (phosphoric acid) (soda water might be best - never tried it thought).
