Liverock in a Freshwater
Well i was wondering if i can put Live rock in a freshwater tank. well thanx later,

You can do anything you want. It will kill everything currently on/in the rock. I guess eventually freshwater bacteria will colonize on it. Ive never even though of it though. Why would you waste your money doing that. There are plenty of other rock types out there.

I use "live" tufa rock from established tanks when I set up new tanks to speed up cycling. Is that what you want to do?

No. The live organisms/algae/bacteria will not only die, but pollute the FW tank. Then there is the problem of leaching calcium carbonates into the water. That's only OK for African cichlid tanks that do high alk/pH well.
