Moving shrooms

Excuse the noob question but all I can find is info on fragging, not moving...

I want to trade some shrooms with someone locally but have never moved any.... I plan to cut them off the rock with a razor blade at the base (as close as possible) to the rock and then bring them to a meeting to trade...

Do I need to worry about them sliming and poluting the water (a relatively small volume in my cooler over an few hours) or should I cut them off a day or more before in my system--- let them heal up a bit (and dilute the slime in my system) before taking them to the meeting....

any advice or a link to this info would be greatly appreciated....

I was going to trade about 4 or 5 medium sized shrooms...

thanks in advance for any advice..

Spuds/Bill

I 'scraped' some shrooms off of some of my larger pieces with a steak knife (my fav reef tool) which really involved removing a small layer of the rock they were attached to. They really did not like that and spewed slime for a day or two. I placed them in an open tupperware to let them recover with some sand in the bottom. They attach to the sand pretty well which you can then glue to some plugs or rubble or what have you.

Hope that helps!

Thanks...

that helps how to move them by cutting them off ahead of time but do I have to do it this way or can I cut and transport in a gallon or two right after cutting without fouling the water... if not I'll do it few days ahead of time..
