Wanted: A Lil Red, And A Lil Blue
hello every one, i hope you are enjoying the snow.
i have a new tank, and what i think to be a good plan. its primarily for a mantis shrimp (Mr. Beelzebub), but i also want it to be a softie reef tank. i have been adding very small frags of polyps, zoa's and mushies. i have not bought anything larger than like a golf ball. my plan is to get a crapload of small frags and colonies of all sorts of different colors and let them grow over time. so this is where i need you guyses help. anybody in boulder or less than 30 min from boulder have any small frags or colonies of polyps, zoas or mushies that are bright red or dark blue? LFS usually dont have things as small as id like. plus, there is a whole lot of reef geeks up in fort, but my ex psycho***** lives in laporte, and i dont think id want to have a living creature in a bag for more than an hour. so anybody closer would be great. ill pay ya good too |

I wouldn't worry about the 1 hour drive. Remember that almost all of these animals (or their ancestors...) got to Colorado in one or more overnight (minimum) shipments.
If you don't have any insulated fish shipping boxes or a small insulated cooler, take along a salt bucket and a small blanket (or towels)...wrap the livestock bag in the blanket for insulation and put it all into the bucket...temp drop will be minimal. You can also use one or two heat packs (from the sporting goods store) along side the bag. Best yet, if you plan to do much of this, is to get a power inverter to take your 12v DC car battery to power a small wattage 120v heater.
