super Skimmer 220 driving me nuts

I have a Super Skimmer 220 for my 110 Tall Tank with LPS and softies, and tangs and chromis. What I can not figure out is why after 3 months of running this thing, that I can not get it to quite stop producing a massive amount of micro bubbles. I am using the skimmer as a HOB since my older sump will not accomodate it. Any suggestions on how to stop the huge production of bubbles?
I have adjusted the knob numerous times without success.
