Pink Turbo Snails are good on rock and glass, and usualy are quite cheap at the LFS. I would say maybe 7-10 of those would be good for a 29.
There are a ton of snails out there that would do a good job of cleaning the glass. I just like Turbos b/c they're cheap.

Astrea snails do a good job on the glass too but work ALOT slower than turbo snails do, probably because they aren't turbo'ed! lol I have also heard good things about Cerith snails but have never tried any.

A few turbo snails for the glass and a couple of blue legged hermits for the rock. I'm not sure why, but I don't see snails on my rock, only the sand and glass. And, if your arm is getting tired from scraping the glass on a 29, it sounds like you need to get yourself to a gym.

A bicolor blenny would be a great addition if you ever get board of watching just snails & hermits. And they also have great personality.

I'd get a couple nassarius and cerith snails for the sandbed. Some astreas, turbos, trochus would be great for glass cleaning. I'd only get a couple of each and go from there. You can always add more later.

I have 29g too, I have 3 Margarita, 4 Astrea, 5 Nassarius snails and 5 blue leg hermits. They are doing great job. My favorites are Pink margaritas. They are like a algea vacuum They are eating algeas non-stop from rocks, glass, pumps, powerheads whereever they are.

Id steer clear of turbos with a smaller tank. They get real big and dont care what they knock over. A night or two in the laying in the sand can kill corals.

try to avoid turbos from mexico becase they like the cooler water. if you absolutely want turbos buy ones that are collected from the tropics (not mexico)
