new feather duster
how long does it take a new feather duster to settle in and open in a new tank? is ther a way to know if they are ok? when they havnt even come out yet?

When i got mine.. they opened up within two hrs.. before when i have gotten some it took a day.. depends on the feather duster.. if it throws it's crown off dont' worry could be creating a bigger, better colorful one( just went through that). If it doesn't open up check your water levels and flow.. cos i know mine don't like to be around the high flow areas.

all things are good i got a small zoo frag and its starting to open up and the feather is toward the bottom in a lower flow bu tstill decent flow area so im not sure its been 3 days with not even a movement

I think it depends on each one. I have two, and the one stayed open the whole time I acclimated it and when putting it in. The other one stayed closed and came out within a half hour.

Give It time It will come out. Just avoid anymore tank Interuptions and Disturbance. When everything calms down it will come out.

Mine didn't open up until lights out after I acclimated it. But he's always out now. Give it time.
