Ive thought about hooking one up numerous times. I dont think it would do much good if you have primarily softies, but if you have LPS or non-photosynthetic corals in the tank, havng a constant supply of essentially plankton available would be a great benefit. Same goes for fish, esp. types like Anthias that do best with very frequent feedings. Just be careful that it doesnt foul your water quality adding food so often.

I raise baby brine, but I can't answer your question. I can tell you my fish love it, how much nutrition they get from it, I do not know. I have also heard about "seperating" shrimp from eggs, washing them before feeding, so I think there is a lot of questions about brine. I would also like to know the "rules"
Thank You Ed |

Nutrition wise, baby brine is actally pretty decent; as it grows the value is lost very quickly though. Having a hatchery where you could move over the newly hatched ones very quickly would still be a good source of extra food.
Im not sure what the egg seperation thing is, but you do want to make sure you are working with decapsulated eggs when you are hatching them, though most vials of eggs you can find for sale have already had this step done.

i wouldnt waste your money on the tank hatcher. i would use something like Melev describes here (which i do). http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/food/bbs/how_to_bbs.html
brine shrimp are very nutritious when first hatched. if left unfed, then they start to lose their value. if you feed them phytoplankton, and/or other foods, then just like any other shrimp they have good nutrition levels.
