Disappearing damsel?

Ugh. I just bought it yesterday. I fed my fish, then I walked out of the room for 2 minutes. When I came back, the fish isn't in the tank! I look all over the floor, move live rock around, etc, but I can't find it

The only thing that I can think of that could have happened is he jumped out of the tank and landed on the air vent on the floor and went down there...

Sorry.

Check the air vent...it's entirely possible. But, also give it a few days in the tank. They will normally hide when first introduced. I assume the tank is already cycled too, right?

I found him!

He was hiding horizontally underneath a TINY crevice in a rock. That can't be comfortable, hiding sideways like that.
