old salt

two days ago i ran out of sera salt when mixing water for my water change. When i switched to sera salt i never finished the bucket of oceanic salt.....so i added about two cups of oceanic salt to make the mixture for my current water change today. My question is has any one had problems using salt that has been sitting around for a long time(six+ months)as with my oceanic salt? could using salt that was exposed to air contain undesirable baceria/fungus in it? your thoughts......

if the salt was still salt and not a brick it should be fine. If it is a brick it probably would still work..........

Pretty much what tkeracer619 said. Salt is an anti-bacterial so you should have nothing to worry about.

that's what i thought but it can't hurt to ask.....dead corals or fish would not be a nice reward for a water change....

It did happen to me also and I did the same. My bag was sealed thought but I still had a bit of brick and everything went well. Don't worry about that.
