I restarted my 55 gallon tank now and wanted to know if Im about done with the cycle. The tank

55 gallon with 30 gal sump
40 lbs Live sand
20 lbs LR

Current Chem Lvls
N02 0- 0.1
No3 5
Nh3 0.1 - 0.3

The lvls spiked at
NO2 0.8

Looking good. Theres 6 damsels in there now. Should I start to add snails and make sure they do good?

It sounds like you could add a small cleaning crew (couple of snails and small hermit crabs).

How long has the tank been cycling?

Yep, it's about done. I would wait a few more weeks before adding anything else but the cleaning crew.

Why only 20 lbs of LR? Yes you can add snails now.

Are you going fish only or reef? I would add more liverock for filtration. Also, Why are you cycling the tank with damsels? Do you plan on keeping them? What kind are they? If you do not plan on keeping them I would get them out now and return them for credit before you are not able to get them out. Even with only 20lbs of liverock you are going to have fun trying to catch them... If you were told to cycle your tank with them the person that told you this was wrong to do so... you can cycle a tank without harming or killing unwanted fish... Sorry to sound so harsh but you need to read up on this before putting any animal in harms way...

Good luck

Im going reef....6 damsels of all different types. I enjoy a challenge catching fish. My 13 inch long snowflake eel helped me practice when I emptied the tank. But its almost done now and I will add a cleaner crew and remove the fish there now and bring back mine that are at a friends tank.
