SSB to a DSB "?"

i have 2.0 inches of Fiji Pink in my 25G, i want to raise to 5-6 inches. i know there is a slight possibility of a cycle. tank is 14 months old. should i add the new substrate on top only? or mix it with the current sand when added?
Parmameters are perfect as of now thanx,

John M

why do you want to go deeper? Will you be keeping sand dwelling creatures?

yes, i want (paired) two spot goby's.
im shutting down (desk-top) the 3G bowfront. it currently houses, one: 1.25" psuedochromis, one: 1.0" true perckula clown (getting a mate), two: cerriths, one: blue legged hermit, one scarlet hermit. they have all outgrown it, time to move them to the 25G. 14 months now, ive grown coralline on hundreds of pieces of cured rubble LR, for trade-out to my LFS for frags. (he uses the RLR for attaching frags) i also fraged my purple gorgonian about 3 months ago and put one of my frags in it then, and its doing great! might get a star, might not (undecided)
thats about it, gonna keep it simple, with no skimmer either.

i would like to add one: (UNDECIDED, maybe a "purple BTA") anomone , frag one: green shroom, one: purple shroom. i have a "DIY" HOB refugeium with 5"X15" with 3.5" of LS and chaeto, with a clip-on growlight. added: copepods, ampods and tiger pods. they are abundant in "it", and the display. im also placing 6 more pounds of Kaelini from the 3G in it. (my neice gets the 3G)

also keeping the original Bahama, Fiji, and Kaelini LR that i used to seed the rubble, 20+ lbs total. plus now the 6 lbs. kaelini and the (just added today!) 15 lbs. of Fiji Pink, rinsed then stirred into existing LS.

i remember reading your 1,000G set-up post. sweeeeett!!!! tank!
have a great day, and may all your children be born naked, .

8-10 lbs of LR should have said: "Bahama" the Fiji and Kaelini are about cantalope size pieces. totaling about 20+ lbs in 6 pieces".
sorry, long weekend. been waiting 2 days for placebo to kick-in
wanna buy a 5G corner bowfront (six sideded) i shut it down today and gave the LFS everything in it for the sand and store credit.
just noticed i put purple BTA instead of LTA, damn placebo's, i hate my doctor!

well, be careful with the PLTA...not good for a small tank based on my experience and others'.

i was (JKA) Just Kidding Around. I was refering to your signature. i found it humorous! " No, I don't need a Purple LTA, Damnit!" i would go with a cheap BTA undecided on the color though.

sorry John, my humor monitor got squashed when I had a stroke.

I saw one so nice and happy in Steve Weast's tank and got one right away...well I guess his husbandry is far superior to mine, since the PLTA seems to roam at will, bear hugging all the corals along the way...
