Probably looking for a host. Some clowns tend to be a little aggressive.

This could be a good thing actually. Doesn't Xenia have a tendency to grow like weeds? Depending on the amount your Clarki eats, you might have your own built in maintenance crew. :-)

he he thanks for your input, i have only just put the xenia in there, a small frag i had from a friend, it has started to grow fast but i am not sure now how long it will last....... :-((

if its agressive because of its patch then do you suggest moving the colony ?

sure the lionfish would eat the clown fish in time. This should take care of the xenia beating eaten.

Yea, no doubt , I would have to agree with TitansFan... but I guess it would solve your problem.. then again netting out the clarkii and trading with another local reefer is also an option, if you were going to go that route . But the lion fish is kind of a sledgehammer approach though, don'tcha think ?

My Tomato Clown (Mater) hosts in both my Xenia and Anthelia. He's pretty rough with both. It took the Anthelia some time to get used to the roughness, but it's doing well now. He's just discovered the Xenia, so we'll see how it fares. They are both new frags from a fellow reefer, but I'm glad he has a couple homes until I can get him an anemone.
