Blue algae
I have this blue algae similar looking to chaeto growing out of one of my zoo rocks I have had for over a year in my 125 and it has just popped up; not sure if it is blue from the actinic lighting or truely blue. I am going to pull off the rock as it is inhibiting my zoas; was wondering if worth putting in my fuge with chaeto and mangroves? Thanks Jeff

Looks like Chaetomorpha? Its possible its Ochtodes, which a lot of the macroalgae / marine plants lovers would consider rare and wonderful.

Years ago I had bryopsis and it looked like little blue feathers everywhere. Tough stuff but a lettuce nudibranch made short work of it.
