Pumps, Pumps, Pumps?
Hello
I am going to add a closed loop to my 75 gallon and was wondering what experiences if any everyone has had with the Sequence reeflo Snapper pumps or what other pumps you have used with good experiences. I am looking for a pump in the 2500-3000gph range. Also there is no head loss with a closed loop correct? All help appreciated. |

3000 gal for a 75? Seems a bit much to me. That's 40x flow just from that pump. Most consider 30x the high end.
I had no problems with my GenX-30. It was a bit noisy, but not so much that it would disturb me. |

Have to agree with Shagsbeard here. I put 2000 gph flow in my 55g and almost ripped all the tissue from all my corals. 40x may work if you have stictly an SPS tank, and only those that prefer high current. Also need to disperse this current around the tank well. A pump like you are looking at will cause a very intense laminar flow. If you have any leathers, softies, shrooms, and LPS, may wanna consider researching the required water movement needed.
