coral info site?
I bought some live rock and it had a soft coral on it. I cant get a good enough pic for you, comes out too blurry. Is there a site with coral info and pics I can look at? I have never seen this before. It is good size, about the size of a quarter. It is dark pink and fuzzy with branches. The best I could get was this....

Hello salttess,
of course I can't be sure, but from the photo and your description it looks like a Stylophora or Pocillopora. If so, then it is an SPS coral. is it like any of these? http://whelk.aims.gov.au/coralsearch...0pages/345.htm http://www2.aims.gov.au/coralsearch/...0pages/310.htm Paul

It looks like it might be a Chili Coral. But, it could also even be a sponge. It's really hard to tell from the pictures. Can you get a closer shot and some from different angles?

Well, I dont think its a sps because it is totally soft and pliable, I went to both the sites you suggested and it doesnt look like either of them. I thought chili corals were white with red polyps, but I will research that. Everytime I try to get closer it blurs up on me. So far it is doing ok, I have it toward the back of the tank in medium light. Thanks, Tina

Oh ok, definitely not SPS then... Too identify it properly really requires better quality, closer photos.
Sorry, Paul

Travis, thanks....mine is not so red more deep pink, and although it looks the same shape as the daytime chili, mine has thinner branches and are fuzzy. But I will look at it tonight when lights are out. So far light hasnt hurt it and it is standing straight up. I will continue to look for it....any coral sites to surf? SpektralerSpeer....thanks for trying..... Tina
