algae problem and coral death
I am new to the salt water industry. And could use some helpful hints about algae that is starting to grow in my tank. I have done all the tests that i know to do, and still can not get the red algae to go away. Phosphates have been my worst nightmare, but now they are around 0. There has never been a nitrate problem.
and i am also slowly loosing some of my corals. Calcium is around 450 and alkalinity is 8.3. if any one could help it would be appreciated. |

The red stuff can be a pita. Do you use RO/DI water? If so, what is the tds? I'm assuming no skimmer on the Aquapod...

I second the red stuff being a pita. It got so bad on my sandbed that I eventually resorted to a product called Chemiclean.
If at all possible do not use it. I recommend this as a last resort as it almost took out my nem and corals. Keep your tank flow up and cut back on your light cycle. These two things helped me more than anything else.
