Question ballast question

this mite me a dumb question, but is there any way to check to see if you ballast is dead. or maybe just the on/off switch. I hate to go and buy a ballast, and find out it's the on/off switch

Try checking the fuse? Buy a cheapy voltmeter?

Buy a chirping type voltage checker? You hold it next to things that have or supposed to have live electricity, If it chirps you got electricity

It wont tell you if you have enough or if anything else is wrong, but it is a start
