need some help with system design
I'm building up a 30 gallon cube tank and am about ready to get the tank drilled and have the overflow installed. Can someone help me out with this process? I don't even know really where to start. My last tank was VERY simplistic as far as equipment goes (e.g. all hang on stuff).
Here's what I know/think so far . . . The tank is going to be a BB SPS reef. I'd like to run an Eheim 1260 for the return (635 gph at zero head) that is T'd off going back to the tank. The idea is for slower flow through the sump. For a skimmer, I'm leaning towards the H&S in-sump 110 . . . Its rated for 100 gallon systems so it should do my BB reef quite well. I also plan to run a CL system that utilizes an OM Squirt. I don't know what pump to use here though. This is going to be the main source of circulation in the tank. Lighting I will figure out later . . . I need to get the plumbing done first. So here's where I get stuck. I have a good idea of what I want from the system. I have ABSOLUTELY no idea how to put it all together. For instance . . . I need an overflow, and I want an internal box. How big of a hole do I get drilled? Where? Although this is a rambling thread, what I'm looking for is some guidance in where to begin! I have not bought anything yet because I'd rather plan out the whole system and THEN buy stuff . . . especially when were talking about high priced items! Thanks everyone! |
