how bad is nyc water?

I am setting up a new tank and was wondering if I didn't use ro water would my fish die swimming in the dirty water from the faucet? thanx

Spend the $$.. And get filtered water from a trusted source.. I would NEVER, EVER use tap water for a Saltwater tank.. You're just begging for problems..
