How long does pellet food stay good for?

I found a jar of New Life Spectrum pellet food I've had for probably two years now. It's been sealed tight and looks/smells fine. Is it still okay or would there be no nutritional value to it anymore?

You're gonna have to taste it first and report back on it's flavor.

I agree w/ King-Kong, once they start to taste a little bitter you need to through them out

And the nutritional value will not have declined over time even if the food tastes ok?

But if you want to try it, go ahead and tell us how it tastes.

I have a jar of Formula 2 flakes that is more than a year old. My old fishes eat it just fine. I tried feeding it to my new fishes, they would eat it and spit it out. Then I got a new jar and the new fishes would eat them. After a week or so feeding them with the new jar I tried feeding them the old one and they took the bait.

I guess the old jar doesn't taste as good as the new one. The colour of the old jar also appears much darker than the new one.
