90 Gal Live Stock
Well it has finally come to the time to stock my tank! I have all the lighting for corals also.
I would like your input on what type of fish, how much rock, best type of corals and clean up crew to go in. I really like tangs and clown fish if that helps. Once I stock it, I will post pictures to show. It will be stocked this Thursday. I already have cured liverock to go in. So please, post up what you think. |

You say you have all the corals to stock your tank?

Assuming your tank has cycled...I would go slow. I am new to this and am getting a crash coarse in patients. Add one fish at a time. I understand that tangs need to be kept singley. As far as the live rock goes...the standard recommendation is about a Lb per gal. This can be skewed though depending on how dense the rock is. Add enough so that it looks good to you. You might want to consider adding your rock then wait for a while to make sure your water is stabilized before adding fish. It may go through another mini cycle. You are going to qurentine your fish before adding them to your tank, right?

The fish and live rock are coming from an already established 220 tank from someone I know that is getting out of the hobby. If the liverock and fish are coming from the same tank, do the fish still need to be quarantined?

Well... I guess not.
I'm sure someone with more experience will weigh in on this. Good luck and I look forward to seeing some pictures.

Just my opinion, but If thats the case, I probably wouldn't waste the time with the quarantine, but, I would put the live rock in first, and at least wait a little bit before adding any fish... maybe a couple weeks, just to make sure you don't have any dieoff,, watch your ammonia... and go from there...
