Noisy overflow Part 10

Man, can't seem to get my overflow to stop gurgling with air in the drain. My problem comes from the fact that my sump is located in the basement about a 15 ft drop. The only way to stop the noise is to restict the downflow with a ball valve. Don't really like doing that in case of a plugged drain and overflowing the tank.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Tried the Durso with no luck.Thx

???

I have the same issue with a tank in my bedroom. What is the stockman and hose trick? Could you elaborate or send a pic?

Thanks,

here

here is the link ( if i did it right) to a site showing the stockman exploded out. i added a hose through the cap that goes down to the inlet and rotated it around until it was completley quiet. if you still need help i can load up a pic tonight and show you the stockman on my overflow.

Can this system work in a predrilled overflow? I've got an allglass 75 gallon with buit in overflow and I'm really having sound issues. I can eliminate the sound by closing down my ball joint to the drain but then I have to close down the pump flow to my powerheads which reduces the flow in the tank. Don't want to do that if I don't have to.

Should work in a drilled. you might have to make the "stem" of it longer. heres a pic of mine set up in the overflow box. [IMG]IMG]http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w261/tlshetler/P1311238.jpg[/IMG][/IMG]
