Moving coral to another tank in same room?
I was wondering what you folks who are also fortunate enough to be running 2+ tanks do if you wish to move something over from one tank to the other.
I presume you would keep your parameters relatively stable - do you need to acclimate if your ph\temp etc check out nearly identicle? I was wondering if you just go for it or if you still drip acclimate, thanks!!

When I had 2 tanks going, I would move it in enough water to cover the coral and acclimate just like I would if it came from a store.
I don't think you could get 2 systems identical in water params. If you could, I would still acclimate.

Unless the tanks share a sump and water, you should still acclimate just to be safe.

there are far to many variables in water quality, things that we don't even monitor, and sudden changes could be fatal. If you are putting an animal into a new tank always acclimate, it is the responsible thing to do.

Thanks guys. The params I do measure are pretty stable but you're right theres TONS of stuff we dont\can't monitor.
Looks like when I move something I will drip it.. fortunately I can reuse my own water and it isnt like chancing it with the LFS ;p

I am sure acclimation is the correct thing to do, but to be honest I have four saltwater tanks going and just switch stuff from one tank to another without acclimation .....and never lost anything.... Good luck!
