Quarantine Tank Cycle question.
Last night, I setup my 10 gal quarantine tank for my new arrival. I used 5 gallons of used tank water from my display tank and 5 gallons of new water. The tank uses a power filter for filtration. The cartridge for the power filter sat in the return chamber of my sump for a week. Do you think this is enough time to establish enough bacteria for denitrification?

It has that blue fiber filter material and some carbon. I figure if I need to treat the tank and can cut open the pouch with carbon and remove it.
