Can a Mag pump sit on its side?

Well actually at a 45 degree angle. I have a wet/dry for a sump and the only space I have left in it is on the side with that little angle. I think I can put it in there on that angle and fill the sump a little bit higher than it is now so the water level will cover the pump. Is that ok to do, or do the pumps need to lay flat? Oh, its a Mag 18.
Thanks
