Replacing a PC ballast..... help!

I got 2 workhorse 5 ballasts from a friend yesterday. My plan was to use one of them to replace a blown ballast in my crappy oddysea mh fixture. So I opened up the fixture. Wired it up how I thought it was supposed to be done. Tried grounding the yellow wire on the fixture itself and blew the breaker. So my thought is that the sockets are already grounded and by me grounding the yellow wire it completed a circuit and blew the GFCI.

So here's a makeshift diagram of what I'm working with. What would be the correct way to wire this ballast in?

Thanks in advance,

Matt
