Umm Hope you didn't pay to much extra for him being blue.
I can't recall exact species but one of the green clown gobys
turns blue during mating season, If i recall correctly.

Is he blue because he is sad?

I like him, very cool.

I saw him at the LFS and liked him for his color. There were other green ones in the tank and he was the bluest. Didn't pay any extra. I also picked up a bright red one as well.

I hope you don't have any SPS. I just finally irradiated one of those guys because he was a serious polyp nipper. Nevertheless, they are very pretty.

I have a small Cap frag, but noting major. I've had a yellow clown goby before, he never messed with the cap, and the new guys haven't even messed with it either. The Cap is up pretty high in the tank and the gobys tend to stay at the bottom.

I'd be blue if it was mating season and I wasn't with any of my species, lol.

BTW do we know for sure what species this is? Be nice to have a scientific name and know for sure if it changed due to mating season. I try to get scientific names for all of the major items I put in my tank. LR hitch hikers I have just about given up on IDing.

green clown goby kabong is right about turning blueish during mating. you have a male i think. If you buy a smaller one he may maintain the blue every so often because of the female.

That Blue Clown Goby is too cool! Didn't know they existed. Have only seen/heard of Black, citron, green, and rusty clown gobies. I did a google search on the blue and nothing turned up. Any insight and info on your fish or this fish in general would be appreciated.

I am thinking hard about one as they are small and I can fit it in my established tank. I love the look and they are reef safe from what I have read.

Didn't look at last two posts. Intersting on the mating issue. Still cool, even so. Like the green clown goby the best after the blue-may be the same.

Curtis1158 - They are reef safe, as i have had a yellow one before. They are fun fish to watch. Some people who put them in their tanks don't seem them that often because of their size and the fact that they stay hidden, but if you get luckey as i have they will pick out a spot they like near the front of the glass and you will see him all the time. Great fish with a great color selection to choose from......Good Luck

Spent all his energy to impress the ladies in the tank and ended up impressing Lpabsolute and was taken away from his harem of female gobies. Poor thing, lol. You should take zemuron114's recommendation and get a small little female for it.

There is another clown goby in there. he's a red one though, but they are never around each other and stay on different ends of the tank....

Hum.. do some research, see if the red one is a female. I was just going to say hook them up, but if its a male also that might be a little awkward for them. Who knows it's so used to the green ones person a red head would be a good change of pace, lol.
