Conspecific temperments of aggressive corals.
In any ref environment, there are many chemical and biological "attacks" made by corals in an attempt to survive and dominate their environment. For aggressive corals of the same species, are there still these same issues with conspecifics?
Ie; a tank with only Coral A, what would the reactions be between the colonies of this coral towards each other? personal experience is appreciated, Thank you.

Thank you.

I have some encrusting monti's that grow right up too each other. They don't seem to suffer for it.

Generally speaking, corals of the same species do not engage in allelopathy. They will however compete for light and food. In fact, many corals of the same genus, Euphyllia for example, are also easy going when it comes to allelopathy.
Hope that helps.

Please forgive me for my impatience; it seems that threads seem to get buried rapidly underneath the "sediment" of the higher flow of this site.
Anyone have any thoughts reguarding these reactions in fire corals (millepora)? Thank you.
