Loud pumps HELP!

I recently replaced a mag 5 with a eheim 1260 for my return, i also have the euroreef rs80 w/ sp2 pump. Both vibrate kinda badly with my ehiem being the worst. I bought these parts for their reputation for being quiet, so whats the problem? Its more of a loud hum i guess is the best way to describe it, it seems like raising the pump off the 20L glass sump doesnt even seem to quiet it, any suggestions?

1260 is normally a quiet pump. How do you have it plumbed?

I have it soft plumbed 3/4" vinyl tubing to a scwd split to 2 u-tubes. Should i break the pump down and clean it? its only like 2 weeks old.

I wouldn't think so, but it wouldn't hurt to take it apart and make sure everything is OK in there. Did you ever try it without the SCWD?

Yes i had it plumbed before w/o it, kinda seemed just as loud. I had it in a tupperware storage bin sump last week, this week i set up au 20L glass sump thinkin it'd be quieter due to thicker materials but its not. Do these pumps run quieter externally?

I have an eheim 1262 in my sump and can't hear it at all.
Can you set it on a filter pad or something?
It may be vibrating off glass.

What can i add to the tank to dampen but not become a biological filter or leach anything into my tank? I was considering those stick on rubber pads for furniture to the bottom of the pump, or maybe a mouse pad, but i'm worried they'll pollute my tank

I would try to set it on the kind of sponge you clean the tank with.
At least it may tell you it's vibration.
