Yellow Tang Lifespan?

A question for the board. I upgraded four years ago to my reef setup and I bought a guys complete setup which included a yellow tang. At the time he said that he had that tang for five years and it was full size which it still is the same size as when I got it. I have had it for four years. I would bet that it is safe to assume that the tang was not collected right after birth so it could have already been a number of years old when it was collected in the wild. That would put my wife's favorite fish at 9-11 years old?

Anyone know the expectancy of the yellow tang? I would be devastated if I lost this one. I know they are very common but I honestly have never seen one in the lfs that has the deep yellow colleration of the one I have. All the ones I see in the store are pale yellow. Thanks
