drilling a return hole inside my overflow
I just purchased a 40 gallon truvu acrylic tank with a corner overflow that comes with only one hole (a 1 3/4" drain) inside the overflow. I want to make this tank viewable from all sides and eliminate unsightly wires and hoses. My other choice is to just run a 3/4" return hose from my sump and back into my tank from outside the overflow.
1) Can I drill a 3/4" hole inside the overflow to run my return up thru the overflow? If not, where can i drill a hole for my return line. 2) Would the close proximity of the drain hole and the return hole cause any problems? 3) Would I still have enough room to install a stockman or durso overflow? Thanks Here's a pic to simplify what i want to do |

Time to blow the dust off of this post.
I have the same problem. Does anyone have any advice? Maybe the original poster found a solution in the last 3 years. Thanks!
