which skimmer?
I am in the process of setting up my 50g stocked reef and am in need of a really good skimmer.
I have heard of a lot of people using ASM and Octopus, but there is such a difference in price between brands...I dont know which ones work more efficiently then others. I am in college and footing my own bill 100% so the best one for the money would be something to consider Any suggestions?

If you can swing it (and fit it in your sump), the Reef Octopus NW-150 would work well.
