does anyone know how to tune a protein skimmer?

I have a CPR Bak Pak Cyclone skimmer and biofilter and I read that you can adjust the amount of scum you get out by tuning the skimmer. Does anyone know how to tune the Bak Pak Cyclone. I read something about raising the collector.
