Aquaconnect & Megachrome pictures ?
I have a 55 x 24 x 24 tank with 90% SPS. My lighthing is based on a Sfiligoi lamp with 2 x SE 400 watt Metal halides and 4 x 54 watt T5's.
I have tried the following bulbs in my tank: - SE BLV 10.000 K: With a green tint - SE BLV 14.000 K: A little more white than the 10K, but not blue at all - SE XM 20.000 K: Nice color but lower PAR The XM 20K gives a nice color to the water and specially to the corals, but the PAR is lower than what I want. With the BLV lights I have a problem that all the green colors fade and the acros turn brown. As soon as I install the XM lights again, the metallic greens start showing up again. This is an old picture but gives an idea of the colors I used to have. ![]() With the XM bulbs, the acro in the right shows a very nice metallic green color but with the BLV's, it turn to a plain brown. Because of this, I was planning on trying some Aquaconnects or Megachrome bulbs. I know that both bulbs are expensive, buyt if they give me the color and PAR that I want, I'm more than willing to buy them. Any pictures of tanks with these bulbs ? Experiences with the green metallic colors ? Last edited by Fatboy; 02/19/2007 at 06:50 AM. |
