How long does it take the heaters to reach a stable tank temp?

I've had it in there for about 2 hours now. I'm wondering how long it takes so I can move my fish over to their quarantine tank for ich treatment.

That would depend on the tank size and heater wattage. most heaters recommend 24 hrs before the temp to stabilize. has the ligth turned off on the heater?

How would we ever be able to answer that without knowing your tank size and what type/wattage of heater.......

Also common sense would say, wait till the water heats up to the temperature you want; then you can add fish.
