Lightbulb Carbon Change

I would like to take a poll and see how often people change their carbon, since opinions change widely from 3 days to 1 months.

I run it now and would like to do it often enough to avoid any leaching of stuff back into the system.

I do monthly as well right now, but I have read so many different opinions, I thought it might be interesting to have a poll.

I run carbon only one week per month. It will remove the bad as well as the good.

looks like a lot of people are on and around a monthly schedule so far.

Whenever I think of it. I've changed it after 2 weeks, but have forgotten it for as long as 6 months.

really interesting to get such a wide range, but the +/- monthly media change dominates the poll so far

I run carbon only occasionally, about a week to 10 days per 6 weeks or so. I also run poly filters, which augments the chemical filtration of my system.

Yup, usually a month or until the flow has slowed up significantly and that can vary from two to four weeks for any of us. So just keep an eye on the output of your filter.

I said longer than 4 weeks since it's in the reactor with my phosban, and only gets changed when the phosban needs changing. So I guess technically I only run carbon part time

BTW, who changes their carbon every three days?

I think a minority of people run it for three days a month and then take it out to avoid taking out to many trace elements.

I use 3, 1/2 units of chemi-pure. I take out the oldest and put in a new one every month.
