Bulkhead attached to PVC? Pics inc -

I have two overflows on my 150g that I have always used flex tubing with. I want to change it to PVC since I am redoing the tank filtration but had a question. The bulkheads on the bottom of the durso's are ribbed on the outside and smooth on the inside. I tested it and 3/4 inch PVC fits perfectly. I just thought that when using PVC it would go on the outside of the bottom of the bulkhead which should be smooth. If it goes on the inside, then do I just use PVC glue to glue it in? If anyone has a close-up picture of how they did it I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Krash

it looks like it has a barb attached to it, if its for a drain or something I would get another bulkhead, the pipe you will use will be the same size, the one you have looks like it reduces to a smaller size

Those are AGA bulkheads, curious is your tank an All Glass Aquarium or Oceanic? They are made for attaching a flexible vinyl tubing (I think PVC is something different).

I would replace the bulkheads with schedule 80 ones (Heavy Duty) as found at http://savko.com/partlist.asp?pgid=2&ptid=5&pid=28

Measure your tanks hole and find the bulkhead size approriate based on Savko's "hole size".

Best
Doug

I have an AGA tank so you are right on with the bulkheads. I take it the durso's are a standard size so that I will be able to replace the ones that came with the tank? The sump that came with the tank is Oceanic though. Thanks for the responses, I really appreciate the help.

I made my own Durso's to fit in a 1" bulkhead, but the durso tube is 1-1/4" and funneled to a 1" using the bushing or adapter. This is per Richard Durso's website.
